Community Strong Award Presented To Three Bank Midwest Employees

Bank Midwest recently announced its inaugural Community Strong award bestowed upon three employees:

Debbie Johnson, a Retail Associate with Bank Midwest, works out of the Sherburn location and has been a member of the employee-owner team for 42 years.

Dan Kerr, a Business Development Associate in West Des Moines. Dan, a native of Fredericksberg, IA, has been with Bank Midwest for 10 years.

Curt Petersen, an insurance agent with Bank Midwest in Spirit Lake, Iowa, has 34 years of experience in the financial services industry. He was named Top Insurance Agent for 2019 by Group Benefits, Ltd.

The Community Strong program allows Bank Midwest employees to nominate their peers for exceptional volunteer efforts for worthy causes. Three winners were chosen from a pool of 50 submissions, receiving their awards at the Bank Midwest annual Employee Rally on Monday, October 12, 2020.

“We have a strong culture of community service at Bank Midwest and encourage employees to volunteer for causes that matter,” states bank president Mary Kay Bates. “Recognizing individual efforts to support their local community is something we value and celebrate.”

Bank Midwest has 11 locations throughout Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota. The financial institution has assets of $1 billion, and is a full-service financial institution offering loans and traditional FDIC-insured accounts, as well as insurance, investment and trust services. (Investments and insurance services are not deposits, not FDIC insured, not guaranteed by the bank and may go down in value.)
