The Bank Midwest Community Fund is pleased to announce a $25,000 donation to the Windom Area Foundation in support of the construction of a new childcare facility that will be operated by Windom Area Schools.
The project addresses a critical and immediate need for additional childcare capacity in Cottonwood County, where a shortage of available childcare slots has created challenges for working families, employers, and the broader community.
Construction on the new facility is scheduled to begin Monday, marking an important step toward expanding access to quality childcare and supporting the long-term growth and vitality of the region.
“Access to reliable childcare is essential for families, businesses, and the overall strength of our communities,” said Justin Schmit, Regional President. “We are honored to partner with the Windom Area Foundation and Windom Area Schools on a project that will have a lasting impact for generations to come.”
The new daycare facility is expected to significantly increase childcare availability in the area, helping meet the needs of local families while supporting workforce development and economic growth throughout Cottonwood County.
