Stensland and Bates named to new positions at Bank Midwest

Kent Stensland has been named Chief Customer Development Officer of Bank Midwest. A native of Radcliffe, Iowa, Stensland has been a part of the community banking industry for 27 years, and has served in leadership positions at Bank Midwest since 2009. Since 2011, he has been Market President for the organization’s south market, which includes Wall Lake, Spirit Lake and Okoboji.

In his new position he will lead retail and commercial banking, insurance, wealth management, marketing and One Place Capital, a subsidiary that provides equipment financing.

Mary Kay Bates has been named Chief Operations Officer of Bank Midwest. A native of the Lakes Area Mary Kay has been with the bank since 1995, and served in several capacities; most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Administration Officer.

Mary Kay brings 20 years of management experience in the financial services industry to her position, as well as specialized skills in lending, marketing and Human Resources.

“These positions were created as a result of our strategic planning process, and it will allow us to integrate and deliver our signature Great Experience to our customers at the highest level,” states bank chairman and CEO Steve Goodenow. “Both Kent and Mary Kay have a proven track record and the skills to be successful in their positions which have broad scope and impact.”
