How We Protect You
Online Security Features
Bank Midwest maintains a website for your convenience so you can easily access information about our products and services and about us, too.
Encrypted data
When accessing your online banking accounts and making transactions, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to securely encrypt your personal information over the internet - information such as IDs and passwords. This is a preventative measure used to deter anyone but you or bank personnel from accessing your information. We require that customers enroll in online banking services and receive the proper credentials to access account information securely online.
Account Lockout Feature
Password guessing is prevented with an account lockout feature. Our online banking system will automatically lock a user out when an incorrect password is entered multiple consecutive times. If this happens to you, learn how you can reset your password.
Session Timeout
Online banking sessions have a time limit for inactivity. If you logged in but left your computer or haven't been active in your online banking session for several minutes, the system will automatically log you out in order to prevent anyone else from accessing your account.
Verify Website Security
You can verify the security of websites by checking for your web browser's icon indicating a secure site (often a padlock in the bottom of the browser window) or look for "https://" in the website address.
Children's Privacy
Bank Midwest is concerned about the privacy and safety of children online. We do not accept online requests from anyone under the age of 18. Our websites are not targeted to or intended for children.
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) protects children from the online collection of personal information.
