Time is the true test – the positive test of stability

1911 - Charles Goodenow takes over as President.
     
1923 - RL "Bub" Goodenow appointed Vice President and became President (1934-1964)
     
1933 - Bank Holiday — Wall Lake Savings Bank is the only bank in Sac County Iowa allowed to open under its original charter with no restrictions.
     
1938 - An independent insurance agency started that now becomes Bank Midwest Insurance.
     
1962 - John E. Goodenow resigned from FDIC and assumes position of Vice President at Wall Lake Savings Bank.
     
1964 - John E. Goodenow appointed President (1964-1990).
     
1978 - John E. Goodenow acquires Fairmont National Bank Midwest, Fairmont, MN.
     
1988 - John E. Goodenow acquires First National Bank, Jackson, MN.
     
1989 - John E. Goodenow acquires First Trust and Savings Bank, Armstrong, Iowa
     
1990 - Wall Lake and Armstrong, Iowa and Fairmont and Jackson, Minnesota all change their name to Bank Midwest.
     
1993 - The first chartered bank in the City of Okoboji opens as Bank Midwest and Stephen J. Goodenow is its first President.
     
1997 - All charters are merged into one national bank charter.
     
1999 - Purchase of Windom & Westbrook.
